Rolling Meadows Library

Bower

The Board of Trustees of the Rolling Meadows Library voted to hire Jack Bower during their April 10 Board Meeting. Mr. Bower will begin at the Library on May 6.  The decision comes after a nationwide search following the departure of previous director Kevin Meadows last October.

Mr. Bower comes to Rolling Meadows from the Broadview Public Library District where he had been Director since 2022, coordinating the Library’s recovery from major flooding in their lower level. Before Broadview, Mr. Bower was the Digital Services Manager

at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, playing a key role in the organization and opening of their MakerPlace site.

The Board of Trustees appreciated Mr. Bower’s experience expanding services to  underserved members in the community. Vice-President Phil Priest liked the fact that Mr. Bower had worked at libraries with different levels of resources. “He knows who to go to for help and that’s a critical skill” Mr. Priest said. Trustee Sylvia Vange felt that Mr. Bower was the person best suited to lead the Library into the future.
