Poplar Creek
Public Library District
The Board of Trustees of the Poplar Creek Public Library District (PCPLD) located in Streamwood, IL is looking for a staff-oriented, forward-thinking, financially-astute new Executive Director. PCPLD is governed by 7 elected Trustees who love their Library, support administration and staff, and want to see programs

and offerings continue to grow. One priority for the new leader will be building relationships with local government agencies and civic-minded community organizations.
The Library is halfway through their current Strategic Plan and they are keeping on track with the structural improvements outlined in their detailed Capital Repairs Study. The Library is in strong financial shape with a working budget of $6.7 million.

The Executive Director works
closely with two Deputy Directors, one in charge of Public Services and the other responsible for Support Services. Overall, the Library employs 75 patron friendly staff who focus on customer service and are looking for a leader who shares in that vision.
Trustees want a project manager able to prioritize competing tasks. Staff want an Executive Director who solicits their input and works alongside them for the betterment of the Library and the community. With two buildings and a bookmobile, both communication and unification are vital.
PCPLD serves
roughly 70,000 diverse residents in the western suburbs of Chicago with a 100,000 square foot main building in Streamwood, a smaller branch in Hanover Park with self-service capabilities, and an on-the-go bookmobile. ESL Conversation Club gatherings are very popular and so is Studio 1405, their technology-filled maker space.
