The Board of Trustees of the North Riverside Library District voted to hire Jennifer Cutshall during a special meeting held June 24 for that purpose. The decision comes after a nationwide search following the departure of previous director Natalie Starosta for another position. Ms. Cutshall will begin on July 7.

Ms. Cutshall comes to NRLD from the Alsip-Marrionette Library District and after serving four years as the Director at the Steger-South Chicago Heights Library District. Ms. Cutshall also serves as a
Library Trustee for the Homewood Public Library District and on the boards of several professional organizations.

The Board appreciated her breadth of experience and demonstrated problem solving skills. “The amount of time she put into researching our community really impressed me,” said Board President Greg Gordon. Trustee Kathy Bonnar appreciated how Ms. Cuthsall kept referring to herself as a librarian - “The title really means something to her which stood out among the other candidates.” Board Vice President Ken Rouleau liked the how Ms. Cutshall is involved in professional organizations. “Serving on professional boards enhances her knowledge and skills which she’s now bringing to North Riverside,” he said.
