Congratulations Jon Mark Bolthouse!
The Board of Trustees of the North Suburban Library District (NSLD) voted to hire Jon Mark Bolthouse during their July board meeting. The decision comes after a nationwide search following the retirement of former Executive Director Mary Petro.
Mr. Bolthouse will begin on September 2, 2025.
Mr. Bolthouse comes to NSLD from the Fond du Lac Public Library in Wisconsin where he‘s been Executive Director for the past thirteen years. During his tenure, Mr. Bolthouse built collaborative relationships with community organizations to bolster literacy and career development.
The Board also appreciated the unique services Mr. Bolthouse developed at Fond du Lac. “Jon Mark won a 5-year, $1.5 million grant to create STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) programming,” Board President Jane Burden said. Trustee Jo Beck was impressed with the maker space Mr. Bolthouse spearheaded. “He was able to reconfigure their space to create one of the largest maker spaces in Wisconsin,” Ms. Beck said. Board Secretary Judy Lindberg agreed “Their Idea Studio attracts teens and other young adults which we love to see.”
