Nipersink Public Library District
The Board of Trustees of the Nippersink Public Library voted to hire Dana Fanslow during their December board meeting. The decision comes after a nationwide search following the retirement of longtime Director Cynthia Cole.
Ms. Fanslow will begin on January 8, 2024
Ms. Fanslow comes to Nippersink from the Fox River Grove Memorial Library where they’d been the Head of Youth Services since 2019. During her tenure at Fox River Grove, Ms. Fanslow wrote
over $31,000 worth of grants Ms. Fanslow also works with the Veterans Network Committee of Northern Illinois where she currently serves as Secretary and helps coordinate honor flights.
The Board appreciated Ms. Fanslow’s experience, creativity, and enthusiasm. Board President Drew Knobloch appreciated the range of experience she’s had a Fox River Grove. “She’s worked on strategic planning and building projects. But I really liked how she talked about relationship building both within the library and out in the community,” Knobloch said. Trustee Heather Evenson also noted the emphasis on relationship building. “She talked about staff being ‘family’ which impressed me,” Evenson said. “That takes time to build, of course, but we believe she can make that happen.”
